One-time WSOP gold bracelet winner and holder of five WSOP Circuit gold ring, poker pro Kyle Cartwright from Bartlett, Tennessee enriched his collection just an hour ago by capturing one more Circuit gold piece. The player took down the $365 No-Limit Hold’em Monster Stack or Event #8 on the schedule of the 2015/16 WSOP Circuit at Horseshoe Tunica. Apart from a gold ring, he also collected a first-place prize of $29,484.

Event #8 attracted a massive field of 457 entries who created a prize pool of $137,100. The top 54 spots were paid, with payouts starting from $526. The event was a two-day one and kicked off on January 27 to be completed late on January 28.

Of all 457 entries who registered for the tournament, only 29 survived through Day 1 and bagged up their chips to return for Day 2. Cartwright finished the event’s opening day as the chip leader, with his stack totaling 1,200,000. It is also important to note that the player had a massive lead over the rest of the remaining hopefuls. To compare, Jeremy Wheeler, who started Day 2 second in chips, had 577,000.

Upon reaching the unofficial ten-handed final table, Cartwright was still the chip leader and was still holding almost two times more chips than the one standing second in chips. Eventually, Cartwright faced Josh Palmer from Blue Springs, Alabama heads-up.

Although Palmer has not won a WSOP Circuit event so far, he is far from being stranger to the popular poker series. He has cashed in 20 events so far, collecting more than $60,000 in those. However, Palmer’s previous experience could not help him winning last night’s event and he had to settle for the runner-up finish and the amount of $18,225 in prize money.

Hugh Thomas Cross from Westfield, Indiana took 3rd place in the tournament, good for $13,314. James Ross from Champaign, Illinois finished 4th for $9,870. Dustin McMore collected $7,423 for his 5th place. One-time gold ring winner Raymond Lantz from Gibson City, Illinois took home $5,662 for finishing 6th.

Jerry Ard from Monticello, Mississippi took 7th place for the amount of $4,380. The player won a gold ring back in 2012. Marvin Littrell from Denmark, Tennessee finished 8th for $3,437. Donald Crabtree from Mount Juliet, Tennessee scooped $2,735 for taking 9th place. Davis Adams from Tallahassee, Florida rounded out the ten-handed table to be paid $2,206.
