The London Affiliate Conference 2016 officially kicked off yesterday, February 5. Day 1 of what would be this year’s biggest iGaming affiliate event was an utter success, with more than 4,000 delegates from all around the world gathering at Olympia National, London to meet industry peers, find some new business partners, and celebrate together LAC’s 10th anniversary.
And it was a really busy first day of exhibitions and conferences. Floor 1 of Olympia National, London was taken up by iGaming booths, where representatives for some of the world’s biggest gambling operators were reuniting with existing partners and were meeting potential new ones. The second floor of the venue featured dedicated booths for introducing brokers and affiliates within the rapidly growing retail financial sector. There were also three conference rooms where industry personalities shared important highlights from their working experience as well as tips and recommendations for everyone interested in growing their affiliate business.
Floor 1 of Olympia National, London was definitely the busiest. All exhibitors have done their best to make their booths welcoming and attractive to affiliates and other industry personalities. However, there were certain booths that understandably drew a little more attention than others. One of the highlights of the day was the appearance of Evander Holyfield who could be seen at 10Bet and RealDealBet’s stand. The popular former professional boxer was patient enough to take a picture with everyone stopping by the booth.
Slots Million’s stand also deserves to be paid a bit more attention. The online casino brand offered everyone interested a glimpse at its 3D Virtual Reality casino, which is generally considered to be the first of its kind. And representatives for Videoslots, which won the award for Best Innovation of the Year at the iGB Affiliate Awars, presented attendees with their Battle of Slots product.
Operators also lured attendees to their booths with unique merchandise, cozy sitting areas, and a look into their latest products and services. What is more, representatives for the different gambling companies were welcoming affiliates to provide them with more information about their affiliate programs and possibly strike deals that would be equally beneficial to both parties.
As mentioned above, Floor 2 of Olympia National, London was taken up by retail financial industry representatives and although it was less busy upstairs, attendees most definitely had quite a lot to see. The second floor also featured three conference rooms. The first one was for LAC speakers, the second one was for the Financial Partners Expo, which is co-located with the iGaming affiliate event this year, and the third one was an open conference room.
Throughout the day, there were a number of topics discussed in Conference Room 1, all related to the future of the iGaming affiliate industry and the online gambling industry as a whole. People with years and years of experience in the business discussed important topics like SEO challenges and how affiliates could tackle those most effectively, the rise of ad blocking and its impact on the affiliate industry, social responsibility and responsible gambling, technology and how to keep up with it, and many more.
One of the panels worth mentioning was Building a Successful Affiliate Business, with Phil Fraser, founder of the WhichBingo online bingo portal and veteran in the online bingo sector, revealed some of his secrets on how to be successful within the swiftly growing iGaming affiliate industry.
As usual, Day 1 of the London Affiliate Conference was quite action-packed, with affiliates, affiliate managers, and other industry personalities looking to reunite with peers, find new business partners, and celebrate the growth of the industry. Although Day 2 is expected to be less busy, there will still be a lot to see.
