An eighth gold ring has found its owner at Florida’s Palm Beach Kennel Club, which currently plays host to the 2015/16 WSOP Circuit. Austin Peck from Allen, Texas emerged victorious in Event #8: $365 No-Limit Hold’em, scooping the amount of $15,210 of the prize pool and his first WSOP-related gold piece.

At the age of 20, Peck can only play at limited poker destinations across the US. However, this has not stopped him from already making good impression on the live circuit. The player has already collected more than $70,000 in different events.

Peck started playing poker about two years ago after he saw a coverage of the WSOP Main Event on ESPN. Originally, he played in a bar league in his home state and later on moved to South Florida to pursue his career.

The $365 No-Limit Hold’em at Palm Beach Kennel Club was a two-day event and kicked off on February 10. All 195 players who entered it generated a prize pool of $58,500, which was distributed to the top 21 finishers, payouts starting from $648.

The official final table was reached on Day 1 of the event. Nine-handed play kicked off with Peck himself holding the chip lead. The player had 463,000 in chips. The day was completed with five remaining players and Peck still on the lead. The five survivors returned for Day 2 to play down to a winner.

Peck had to face one-time gold ring winner David Tarbet from the UK in the final heads-up match. However, the Englishman was denied the chance to add a second gold piece and had to content himself with a second-place prize of $9,396. On what turned out to be the last hand in play, Peck’s pocket tens were more than enough to secure him with the biggest share of the prize pool and the WSOP Circuit gold ring.

Gary Bodley from West Palm Beach, Florida took 3rd place in last night’s event for a payout of $6,784. One-time gold ring winner Steven Snyder from Charlotte, North Carolina finished 4th, good for $4,982. Jason Gooch from Vidor, Texas collected the amount of $3,722 for finishing 5th.

Marc Sacheli from Miami Beach, Florida took 6th place for $2,828. David Bradshaw from Decatur, Georgia received $2,185 for taking 7th place in the event. Scott Efron from Boca Patron, Florida finished 8th for $1,716. Filippos Stavrakis from Forest Hill, Maryland rounded out the final table to take home $1,369.
