Gambling operator 888 Holdings PLC announced today that it has appointed COO Itai Frieberger as the group’s new CEO. The appointment has come into effect immediately. Mr. Frieberger took the position of COO of 888 in April 2011 and has also been a board member since May 2015.

The gambling company also revealed today that Brian Mattingley, who has been taking the post of Executive Chairman since May 2015, has assumed service as Non-Executive Chairman. Commenting on Mr. Frieberger’s appointment, Mr. Mattingley said that he is delighted with that announcement as the operator’s new CEO has been an important part of its success and also boasts “unique market insight and experience” needed to lead 888 into a new chapter of its development.

Mr. Mattingley also pointed out that Mr. Frieberger has just been the natural choice for the important role and will most definitely be able to take the company even further in the constantly growing online gambling market. Both 888’s new CEO and current CFO, Aviad Kobrine, will be able to drive the company further in providing excellent product offering, proprietary technology, and back office systems, according to its new Non-Executive Chairman.

Of his appointment as CEO of the major gambling operator, Mr. Frieberger said that he is honored to be in charge of a company that offers first-class brands and product offering as well as unmatched market capabilities and analytics. The official further noted that they are all looking forward to continue building on the operator’s success for their gambling customers, staff members, and shareholders.

Mr. Frieberger said about Mr. Mattingley that he has been an important part of the company’s team over the past decade, leading it throughout a transformational period. In addition, the official has been integral to 888’s launch in several regulated markets. Mr. Mattingley will continue serving as Chairman of the board and contributing to the operator’s well-being with his experience and understanding of the industry. Both officials said that they are looking forward to working together even more closely than before.

888 sought regulatory approval for Mr. Frieberger’s appointment early in February. The company needed the move to be approved by regulators in the countries where it holds licenses for the provision of gambling options.
