This year’s edition of the WPT Rolling Thunder $3,500 Main Event is down to six players after Day 3 of the tournament was completed last night. Russell Garrett is leading the six remaining survivors into the final day, which is set to start today at noon local time. Two-time WPT champion Mohsin Charania is headlining the official final table as he is going for his third WPT title.

Here are the official chip counts for the event’s final table:

Russell Garrett – 3,686,000 (184 bb)
Harrison Gimbel – 3,315,000 (166 bb)
Mohsin Charania – 2,716,000 (136 bb)
Markus Gonsalves – 1,258,000 (63 bb)
Hafiz Khan – 754,000 (38 bb)
Derek Wolters – 544,000 (27 bb)

As it could be seen, most of the players are quite deep in chips. The average chip stack is 2.05 million or almost twice as much as it could be seen in most WPT events.

Overall, the WPT Rolling Thunder $3,500 Main Event drew a field of 409 entries this year, with those generating a prize pool of $1,308,800. The top 46 finishers will receive a payout, with the lowest one worth $3,665. The winner will collect the amount of $275,112 and all six finalists are secured with a minimum payout of $54,970.

As mentioned above, Charania is the most prominent of all six survivors with his two former WPT titles. The player won his first WPT Main Event in 2013, when he emerged victorious in the WPT bwin WPT Grand Prix de Paris €7,500 Main Event. Apart from having his name added to the WPT Champions Cup, he also collected the amount of €328,750 for his triumph.

His second WPT title came a year later. The player bested the field of the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic WPT $10,400 Main Event to scoop a first-place of $1,177,890. Charania is now going for his third title and if he succeeds in his endeavor, he will be only the fourth-ever player in the WPT history to have won three Main Events, with Gus Hansen, Carlos Mortensen, and Anthony Zinno being the other three.

As mentioned above, cards will be thrown in the air at noon local time at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, California, with the six remaining players returning to play down to a champion.
