The WPTDeepStacks Reno $1,100 Main Event, currently taking place at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, Nevada, is coming to a close with only nine remaining players who are set to return for Day 3, the tournament’s final day. Nine-handed final table is to begin with Hank Czarnecki holding the chip lead. The player has accumulated a total of 1,311,000 in chips over the past three days of play.
The $1,100 Main Event began on March 25 with two starting flights. The tournament drew as many as 251 entries who created an overall prize pool of $240,470. The top 27 players are to receive a payout, with the lowest one totaling $1,996.
Day 2 of the event saw 61 survivors return from the previous days to determine the names of the nine finalists. Quite expectedly, the bubble burst sometime towards the middle of the day. Steve Friedlander turned out to be the last one to leave the tournament without a payout. He became the bubble boy after he could not make it against Muthu Sivasubramanian and was busted in 28th place.
Each of the nine finalists is guaranteed a min-cash of $5,651. But as one could suggest, they will all aim for the first-place prize of $56,581. Apart from the lion’s share of the prize pool, the winner will also receive a WPTDeepStacks trophy and a $3,000 package for the season-ending Championship.
As mentioned above, the official nine-handed final table will start with Hank Czarnecki as the chip leader, holding 1,311,000 in chips. The player gained his lead at the time when there were 20 players left at the poker tables of Atlantis Casino Resort Spa and did not relinquish it until the end of the day.
Nine-handed play is scheduled to begin at noon local time on Monday. The nine remaining survivors will play down to an eventual champion. Here is a look at the tournament’s official final table:
Hank Czarnecki – 1,311,000
Mike Harvey – 1,102,000
Babe Prescott – 1,024,000
Sean Drake – 897,000
Jose Rodriguez – 665,000
