Adrian Jimenez Wins 2015/16 WSOP Circuit Council Bluffs $365 Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Adrian Jimenez from Hastings, Nebraska joined last night the roster of WSOP Circuit gold ring winners after he topped the field of the $365 Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better or Ring Event #8 on the 2015/16 WSOP Circuit Council Bluffs schedule. Apart from the shiny gold piece, the player also collected the amount of $8,545 for his performance.

A part-time poker player, Jimenez said that he is going to Council Bluffs every time the WSOP Circuit stops there. He also told interviewers that winning a gold ring has been a long-time wish of his and that he is glad that he has finally fulfilled it. As for his choice of game, the player said that he simply loves Omaha and the Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better, particular.

The $365 Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better was a two-day event that began on April 5. It drew a total of 89 players to generate a prize pool of $26,700. The nine finalists received a share of the money, with payouts starting from $850.

Day 1 of the tournament lasted a total of 15 levels. It saw nine survivors bagging up their chips. Those returned for Day 2 to play the official final table and to determine the winner, eventually. Nine-handed play was started with Jimenez himself as the chip leader. The player held a total of 238,000 in chips. It took about three levels of play before the name of the champion became clear. As mentioned above, Jimenez took home the amount of $8,545 and his first-ever WSOP Circuit gold ring.

Shaun Burnett from Lacon, Iowa finished 2nd in the event for a payout of $5,280. Jeff Bryan from Fort Calhoun, Nebraska collected $3,696 for his 3rd place in the event. Jonathan Haidsiak from Laramie, Wyoming took 4th place for $2,692.

Two-time gold ring winner Douglas Carli from Alliance, Ohio scooped $1,981 of the prize pool for finishing 5th in the event. The player is known to be holding the record for the most WSOP Circuit cashes ever.

Brian Hartner from Northglenn, Colorado finished 6th, good for $1,480. Jeff Elseman from Omaha, Nebraska took 7th place for $1,187. Robert Witman from Dubuque, Iowa took home $989 for taking 8th place in the event. Local player Shawn Marley rounded out the official final table for a payout of $850.
