The 2015/16 WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Council Bluffs is running towards its end with only two gold ring events left. And it was last night when another well-known player among WSOP Circuit fans enriched his collection of gold rings by adding one more coveted piece. Joshua Turner from Saint Louis, Missouri emerged victorious in Event #10: $580 No-Limit Hold’em to capture his fourth career gold ring and to collect the first-place prize of $17,359.

The last two WSOP Circuit seasons have been particularly successful for Turner as he has won all his four gold pieces over the past two years. At the beginning of his poker career, the player used to play mainly in cash games. A few years ago, however, he focused his attention on tournaments and is now predominantly a tournament player.

As mentioned above, Turner won his gold ring number four for topping the field of the $580 No-Limit Hold’em at Horseshoe Council Bluffs. The two-day tournament attracted a field of 124 players. The overall prize pool amounted to $62,000 and was distributed to the top 15 finishers. Min-cash totaled $1,047.

Four players returned for the event’s second and final day, which was played on Friday, April 8. Action kicked off with Heath Hekrdle as the chip leader with 527,000. Turner started the day as the short stack but he said that he was strongly determined to eventually win the tournament. And it took him about two and a half hours to defeat his three opponents and to capture the title and the lion’s share of the prize pool.

Shaun Burnett from Lacona, Iowa took 2nd place for a payout of $10,730. Start-of-the-day chip leader Heath Hekrdle from Stanton, Nebraska collected $7,745 for his 3rd place. Mina Greco from Houston, Texas finished 4th for $5,691. One-time gold ring winner Paula Halata from Houston, Texas took home $4,254 for taking 5th place.

Former gold ring winner William Donnelly from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma finished 6th for $3,235. David Lopez from Lincoln, Nebraska took 7th place for $2,500. James Devaney from Omaha, Nebraska scooped $1,964 for taking 8th place. Rounding out the official final table, Patricia Bott from Independence, Missouri received $1,568 for finishing 9th in the tournament.
