O’Dwyer is followed by 2015 GPI Player of the Year Byron Kaverman with 4,244.32 points and Bryn Kenney with 4,158.56 points. Jason Mercier with 4,019.44 points and Connor Drinan with 3,975.62 points are the other two players to compile this week’s top 5 of the popular poker ranking.
Jake Schindler, a player originally from Pennsylvania and currently residing in Florida, has climbed slightly in the leaderboard, following a fourth-place finish in the Aria High Roller XXIX, a one-day $25,000 buy-in event held at Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas early in April. The player collected the amount of $99,850 for his performance and added 219.68 points to his GPI score.
Overall, Schindler has accumulated a total of 3,376.21 points over the course of the past 36 months and is ranking 21st after the leaderboard’s latest Wednesday update.
It could be said that the player started 2016 quite well as he finished 2nd in the Aria High Roller XXIII in late January to scoop a payout of $228,200 and to add 316.35 GPI points to his score. Late last year, Schindler took 2nd place in another such Aria High Roller event for $285,339 and 356.07 GPI points. In August, the player finished 4th in the WPT Choctaw $3,500 Main Event. His share of the prize pool amounted to $224,913 and he also collected 295.15 points for his performance at the prestigious tournament.
