Jason Mercier Continues Online Losing Streak

Lifestyle

Jason Mercier is a name that every self-respecting poker fan has heard. With live tournament earnings of $16,422,563, he is currently one of the world’s most profitable players. A lot more could be said about the Florida resident.

For instance, he has won three WSOP gold bracelets over the past several years and it was only last year when he captured his third gold piece for winning the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Handed event during the 46th edition of the popular poker series. His poker portfolio boasts yet another important achievement – he has also formerly won an EPT title.

Apart from being an accomplished live tournament player, Mercier has also been quite successful online. The player could often be spotted at PokerStars’ online poker tables under the screen name “JasonMercier”. He has played thousands of hands since 2011 when first activity with that particular screen name was registered.

However, it could be said that 2016 has not been his year in terms of his online performance. With recent data showing that the player has dropped $100,000 in cash games over the past seven days, his losses since the beginning of the year now amount to a little less than $200,000. What is more, Mercier is at present a $600,000 lifetime loser.

Although the player seems to be having a streak of bad luck, this does not mean that he has not had better times. In fact, the Florida-born player is a two-time WCOOP champion. He won his first title in 2010, when he bested the field of Event 42: $1,050 No-Limit Hold’em. He received $435,862.07 for his victory. Title number two came two years later. In 2012, Mercier emerged victorious in the $10,300 8-Game (High Roller) event for a first-place prize of $253,425.

Other big online losers this week were “BERRI SWEET”, who dropped $232,000, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, who lost a total of $165,000, and “jinmay”, who dropped $108,000.

As for the big winners over the past seven days, it was “supernova9” who won the most. The player has collected the amount of $201,000 by the end of the reviewed period. Alex “joiso” Kostritsyn with $150,000, “Educa-p0ker” with $148,000, and “steamraise” with $143,000 were also among the online players to win quite a lot this week.
