SIS Expands Greyhound Racing Portfolio with Irish Greyhound Board Deal

News

Provider of various solutions for the gambling industry, both online and land-based, SIS announced a five-year contract with the Irish Greyhound Board, under the terms of which the company would collect greyhound racing content and would distribute it to various online and retail sports betting operators.

The company said that the latest agreement will further confirm its position as a leading supplier of content and related services to the UK and Irish greyhound racing markets. It is also important to note that international streaming rights come as part of the long-standing deal. Thus, suppliers will be able to deploy SIS Stream, a low latency streaming platform introduced by SIS itself. In other words, Irish greyhound racing content will become available to new jurisdictions around the world.

SIS already delivers more than 30,000 Bookmakers’ Afternoon Greyhound Service (BAGS) races per year to a number of countries. By signing its latest agreement with the Irish Greyhound Board, SIS will be able to cover over 1,500 races every year, with those being held at flagship tracks such as Tralee, Mullingar, and Youghal.

Commenting on the recently signed agreement, SIS Greyhound Operations Manager Gordon Bissett said that they have worked closely with the Irish Greyhound Board and their customers to create a reliable betting product. The official further noted that they are looking forward to working together with their new partner for the growth of Irish greyhound racing both in domestic and intentional markets.

According to Mr. Bissett, their new product will gain popularity relative quickly as new broadcast opportunities are to arise in the months to come. He also noted that the partnership would be equally beneficial to both land-based and online betting operators.

Adding Irish greyhound racing, SIS will thus be providing one of the most diverse and comprehensive portfolios within the industry.

Irish Greyhound Board CEO Geraldine Larkin said that the latest agreement has been an important step forward in the Irish greyhound racing history and that it provides for extended coverage of racing events both within the UK and internationally. Ms. Larking further noted that they are looking forward to further developing the sport by deploying streaming and other technologies to introduce their product to a wider audience.
