Provider of products and services for the international gambling industry Scinetific Games Corp. today announced the appointment of former Norwegian Cruise Line CEO and President Kevin M. Sheehan as the company’s new Chief Executive and President. Mr. Sheehan is replacing Gavin Isaacs on the post.
As for Mr. Isaacs, he has been named the gambling provider’s new Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. Both officials assumed their new roles today after their appointments were voted on and approved by board members on Thursday.
As mentioned above, Mr. Sheehan is joining the Scientific Games family from Bermuda-incorporated, US-based cruise ship operator Norwegian Cruise Line. He has spent the past seven years as the latter company’s CEO and President. Mr. Sheehan’s tenure was highlighted by the business’ development and expansion, which positioned it for continued long-term growth.
Scientific Games’ new CEO had formerly served as Senior Adviser at Cerberus Capital Management and had held a number of senior executive roles at former New York-based provider of business and consumer services Cendant Corporation prior to that. Overall, Mr. Sheehan has more than three decades of background in the business world.
Of his latest appointment, Mr. Sheehan himself said that he is happy to join Scientific Games at such an exciting time for the company and that he is looking forward to building on the company’s momentum to drive further growth across its divisions.
Gavin Isaacs, Scientific Games’ former CEO and newly appointed Board Vice Chairman, commented that the company has established itself as one that manages three strong businesses – gaming, interactive, and lottery, and that its business strategies are delivering solid growth and results. Mr. Isaacs said that he is now moving from an operational leadership role to one that he considers more strategic.
The official welcomed the appointment of Mr. Sheehan as the company’s new CEO and President, noting that he is a person with great talent, business experience, and financial acumen and is capable of taking Scientific Games to its next growth and innovation phase.
Scientific Games Board Chairman Ronald O. Perelman commented that they are happy to welcome Mr. Sheehan and to have Mr. Isaacs staying with the company in his new role at a time when there are new and growing opportunities before the internationally recognized gambling provider.
