Rational Group Confirms Zeno Osskó’s Appointment as BetStars’ Managing Director

News

Mere hours ago, Rafi Ashkenazi, the Chief Executive Officer of Rational Group announced that company’s online sportsbook BetStars is to have a new Managing Director.

Zeno Osskó is to take over the role in the middle of September. He will move to the Isle of Man where the headquarters of BetStars is located. He will be responsible for overseeing the overall performance of the sports betting features BetStars launched at the end of 2015.

Mr. Osskó is no stranger to the gambling industry. He has a solid experience in the niche. He held several senior management positions in SAP AG and Vienna Online.

He also used to be a Managing Director at mybet, a German gambling company. The last role he assumed was a Chief Executive Officer of mybet. His appointment as a BetStars’ Managing Director comes a few weeks after the announcement that he will no longer be a part of mybet Board of Directors.

Mr. Ashkenazi commented on Ossko’s appointment and said that he considers him a great fit for the Rational Group, and remained confident that he will actively contribute to the further growth of BetStars. He also added that Ossko’s vast knowledge of the online gambling industry and experience in the development of omni-channel sports betting products, in particular, makes him an invaluable asset for the company.

The soon-to-be-appointed BetStars’ Managing Director also commented on his new role and said that he was impatient to join the Rational Group team and continue working for developing BetStars’ brand and popularizing the products it offers. He went on to say that he was eager to contribute to the expansion of the existing customer base and make BetStars the new customer acquisition channel for the Rational Group.

The launch of BetStars brand in December 2015 created rumours and speculations about its Managing Director. According to more or less reliable sources, the former William Hill executive Jamie Hart was about to take over the reins of the sportsbook.

Rational Group is also managing the online poker giant PokerStars.com. As mentioned above, PokerStars rolled out the sportsbook a few months ago with the aim of making the platform competitive to its well-established rivals.

Initially, players were offered a variety of 23 sports. The platform was available in a limited number of countries. Prior to its launch, Amaya secured the international domains BetStars.dk, BetStars.es, BetStars.it, BetStars.it, BetStars.pt. However, company officials promised to make it available in more countries and diversify the existing betting options, which will be in fact, one of the responsibilities of Zeno Osskó.
