Major UK sports betting and gaming operator Ladbrokes has become Official Betting Partner of the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) for the next two football seasons. The announcement comes shortly after the gambling company became an Official Betting Partner for the English Football Association.

Ladbrokes will benefit from its latest partnership by securing considerable brand exposure during all FAI fixtures played over the next two football seasons, up through the FIFA World Cup, which is to take place in Russia in 2018.

Commenting on the agreement, Director of Ladbrokes Ireland Jackie Murphy said that the operator’s Irish division has returned to growth and that they believe investing in local sport will further help the company keep the upward trends in its performance.

With football being a customer-favorite sport, Ladbrokes hopes to strengthen its position in the Irish gambling market through its partnership with the country’s Football Association, the official added.

FAI Chief Executive John Delaney said that they are delighted to welcome the gambling operator as an important commercial partner of the Football Association. Mr. Delaney further noted that the fact some big gambling industry names have invested in Irish football speaks volumes about the strength of the game there.

Over the years, it has become a common practice for gambling operators to become Official Betting Partners of popular football clubs and football associations. Such partnerships secure providers of sports betting offering with brand visibility across host stadiums as well as numerous other opportunities to acquaint football fans with their offering and thus, increase their customer base in a highly competitive environment as the gambling market has become.

In June, Ladbrokes announced that it had signed a multi-year agreement with The FA, under which the operator became an Official Betting Partner of the English team and The Emirates FA Cup. The partnership became effective on August 1.

Under the deal, Ladbrokes will benefit from wide brand exposure during matches of England’s senior men’s team as well as during all rounds of The Emirates FA Cup. In addition, the company has received in-stadium betting rights, thus being offered the chance to engage with existing customers and attract new ones.
