Professional poker player and online poke trainer Phil Galfond announced on his Run It Once poker training website that he will launch his own online poker brand. The poker pro made the announcement in a blog-like post that did not contain much details about the website itself but rather presented the values its owner would pursue with his new venture.
Anyways, it has become clear from Galfond’s post that the Run It Once Poker real money poker brand will go live sometime in the first quarter of 2017.
According to Galfond, a poker site should value all its players, no matter whether recreational, semi-professional, or professional ones, as they all contribute to the popularization and promotion of the game as one that requires not just a certain amount of luck but also multiple skills.
Galfond wrote that although a poker brand should not favor professionals over other players, it should, after all, praise those that have turned the game into their career. Thus, any policy changes on a given poker website should be implemented in a manner that bears in mind the aforementioned fact.
According to Galfond’s idea of a successful poker brand, it should be one that cares about its players’ feedback and considers communication with them important. Thus, it should make changes that correspond to customers’ demands. In addition, it should be a poker operator’s main goal to provide its players, all types of players, with entertaining and engaging environment.
Fairness and transparency will be other important values Galfond will pursue when launching his website. In addition, he said he believes a poker brand should not be obsessing over how online poker was a decade ago, but should build successful offering based on the current state of affairs and should be agile enough to survive in the rapidly changing online gambling environment.
Being an online trainer and professional player, Galfond certainly knows the ways of poker these days. It is yet to be seen whether he will manage to implement his knowledge so as to create a successful poker brand.
Over the course of his career, Galfond has won more than $2.3 million in live tournament earnings, has captured two WSOP gold bracelets, and has cashed in a number of prestigious live tournaments and online cash games.
