Leading developer and provider of online gambling solutions Playtech today announced several key appointments within its Sports division in a bid to add a considerable boost to its management team and to prepare itself for upcoming major projects related to the company’s Playtech ONE omni-channel solution and the recent acquisition of Austrian sports betting software provider Best Gaming Technology.
Richard Andrew, Danny Angus, and Peter Greberg have joined the company, and Eoin Redmond is to assume his new role at Playtech on October 1.
Mr. Andrew has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Playtech Sports, joining the major supplier from The Hong Kong Jockey Club. He had formerly worked as Trading, Product, and Services Director at gambling operator Ladbrokes. Mr. Andrew has more than 20 years of experience in the sports betting industry.
As for Mr. Angus, he has assumed the Chief Technical Officer role at Playtech Sports. He has previously been employed by leading developer and supplier of sports betting solutions OpenBet, which was acquired by NYX Gaming earlier this year.
Last but not least, Peter Greberg has joined Playtech Sports as Technical Director and leader of the business’ Malmö operations.
Playtech also announced today that another seasoned industry personality will join its Sports division on October 1. Eoin Redmond has been appointed as Sportsbook Product Director. Mr. Redmond has previously been employed by online gambling operator Betfair as its Lead Product Manager Exchange and Sportsbook. Product development and development improvement strategies are among his specialties, as noted in Playtech’s statement regarding the major appointments. Apart from his work at Betfair, Mr. Redmond had also spent several years at Full Tilt.
Commenting on today’s announcement, Playtech CEO Mor Weizer said that the three appointments come as part of the company’s plans to further improve its Playtech Sports division and Playtech ONE omni-channel solution. According to the executive, the latest developments will also help the company extend its product’s reach beyond online and mobile and explore more retail opportunities with it.
Playtech also announced that Ian Chuter, who was appointed as strategic adviser in 2015, will resign from his post as of October 31. As it became known earlier this week, Mr. Chuter has been selected to take the Chief Operating Officer – Digital role at Ladbrokes-Coral, with the latter expected to complete its merger this fall.
