Swedish developer and distributor of online casino content NetEnt announced that it has gone live in Romania after an integration process was successfully completed. A number of major operators that have formerly obtained licenses by the country’s gambling authority are now live with NetEnt’s award-winning titles.
Back in May, the Swedish company was among the first industry suppliers to be granted a full license for the provision of its products to Romanian gambling customers.
Of the latest announcement, Enrico Bradamante, Chief of European Market Operations and Managing Director of NetEnt Malta Ltd., said that they are pleased to have their content launched with operators servicing the Romanian iGaming market as part of their global growth strategy.
Urged by the European Commission and the growing demand for diverse offering, a number of local regulators have adopted flexible gambling frameworks so as to open markets for international operators and content providers over the past several years.
Romania has become one of the latest countries where a new gambling law that allowed for foreign companies to enter the local market was implemented. The country’s gambling regulator began granting full licenses to interested parties and as it could be assumed from the latest headlines, a number of big industry names, not only in Europe but also on a global scale, have entered Romania’s regulated iGaming market.
Aside from NetEnt, NYX Gaming Group, SBTech, PokerStars, 888 Holdings, Evolution Gaming, and Yggdrasil Gaming are only several of the leading online gaming providers and operators to have been admitted to the local market by being awarded full licenses by the Romanian gambling regulator.
