Global Gaming Awards Winners List Revealed at Awards Luncheon

Progress within the global gambling industry was celebrated at the Global Gaming Awards for yet another year. The awards ceremony was held in the Venetian Ballroom at the Venetian Palazzo Congress Center in Las Vegas. It took place on September 26 as part of this year’s edition of the Global Gaming Expo (G2E). Experts from the gambling industry’s numerous branches were gathered together at an awards luncheon to honor the best of the best, or the ones with the brightest achievements over the past year.

Awards were given in 12 categories, with those considering progress in the provision of both online and land-based gambling services. This year’s shortlist was compiled by a nomination panel comprised of eight bright industry minds with years of experience in the field.

The nominees were then presented to a sixty-person judge panel. Similarly to the nomination panel members, judges were, too, people with extensive expertize and knowledge of the ways of the global gambling industry.

Land-Based Operator of the Year was the first category a winner was announced in at the ceremony. Leading casino operator MGM Resorts International scooped the award for third consecutive year. The company was also honored in the Customer Loyalty Program category for its M life Rewards program and the success it has enjoyed over the past several years.

Major online gambling operator 888 Holdings was the one to be named Digital Operator of the Year at this year’s awards ceremony. The company scooped the prestigious award for its 888poker website.

Developer and supplier of gambling products and services IGT was honored in two categories – Casino Product of the Year for its PlaySpot solution and Land-Based Industry Supplier of the Year.

The Digital Supplier of the Year award was given to gambling giant Playtech. The company improved its runner-up finish in that same category at the 2015 awards ceremony.

Microgaming, another online gambling industry leader, also left the Venetian Ballroom with an award. The company emerged as the winner in the Digital Product of the Year category for its widely popular Quickfire online gaming platform that allows more than 400 online brands access to over 600 Microgaming games as well as ones by third-party developers.

Scientific Games and its SG Universal mobile gaming product won this year’s award for Land-Based Gaming Innovation. The solution is widely popular among more than a hundred land-based casinos. As for the Digital Gaming Innovation award, it went to NYX Gaming Group for its Witch Pickings slot title. The game is known for its immersive graphics and mix-and-match feature combination bonus offering.

Malta-headquartered online gaming operator Unibet scooped an award in the Digital Acquisition Program of the Year category. GeoComply, a leading geolocation technology provider, was honored for its accomplishments in its field with the Responsible Business of the Year award.

Last but not least, Maureen Sweeny, Chief Commercial Officer at gambling technology supplier Aristocrat Leisure, received the North American Executive of the Year award.

As mentioned above, the Global Gaming Awards ceremony took place as part of this year’s G2E, known to be the largest-scale global gaming conference and exhibition show. The event started on Monday, September 26, and will be concluded tomorrow, September 29 at Sands Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.
