The Swedish provider of online gambling solutions NetEnt has inked an agreement to work in collaboration with Merkur Gaming Italia, a Gauselmann’s subsidiary. The latter is recognised as one of the most prominent producers of gaming machines in Germany.
Merkur Gaming Italia is currently responsible for the distribution of gaming content to the Italian Comma 6a retail market. Comma 6a is known as the largest gaming machine market in Europe. For the time being, it covers more than 350,000 regulated gambling machines.
Currently, the number of the Comma 6a machines on the territory of Italy is 3,000. The contract between NetEnt and Merkur Gaming Italia allows the distribution of games to machines owned by other companies. The agreement covers Eggomatic and Starburst – two of the most popular NetEnt-powered games. They are expected to be rolled out no later than March 2017.
Enrico Bradamante, Managing Director of NetEnt Malta and Chief of European Market Operations commented on the new partnership. He did not hide his excitement about the opportunity to work together with Gauselmann. Mr. Bradamante said that the partnership is a vivid example of a great balance between the vast experience of NetEnt in the online gambling niche and the high level of expertise of Gauselmann in the land-based gaming machine industry.
Roberto Migliozzi, a Managing Director of Merkur Gaming Italia was also reached for a comment and said he was delighted to inform all interested parties that the gaming content developed by NetEnt, will be added to the Italian Comma 6a machines portfolio. He remained hopeful that the new additions will be well-perceived by players and they will be pleasantly surprised by the games’ quality.
