The last stop of this year’s UKIPT was scheduled to take place in Birmingham’s Genting Club Star City Casino between 5th and 9th of October. Right before it kicked off, poker fans knew it has a lot to offer and were right. They defined it as one of the most exciting stops in the history of UKIPT.

After several days of play, it was Ted Jackson-Spivack who triumphed as the latest UKIPT Main Event Champion. During the heads-up play, he managed to defeat Ludovic Geilich and secure the winner’s trophy as well as the amount of £35,000 of the accumulated prize pool. The lucky winner is no stranger to prestigious poker tournaments. Before he won the Birmingham UKIPT Main Event, his best performance was the fourth place in €550 O.E. EPT Season XII/ IPT – Malta.

As for the UKIPT highlights, twenty-two players returned to Genting Club Star City Casino for the last day of play. A few minutes after the start, Konrad Zalewski was eliminated. Next, Timothy Chung, Dominic Kay, Ali Zihni, Adam Owen, Neil Raine were also sent home. The elimination of the PokerStars’ Pro Jake Cody at the 11th place and the 10th position of Teymour Sabet determined the nine players who got a chance to continue fighting for the coveted trophy.

It took quite some time before the next player was eliminated. After two hours of play, Ben Morrison’s ace-king lost to Jackson-Spivack’s pocket nines. Morrison occupied the ninth position and pocketed £3,580 for his efforts.

David Wilkes was the next to go as his jacks could not beat Krishna Nagaraju’s queens. Wilkes was awarded £4,330 for his eight place. The next player to be eliminated was Nathan Webb. His performance brought him the amount of £5,920 of the accumulated prize pool. Jeremy Wray, Graham Parkin and David Clarkson were eliminated at 6th, 5th and 4th places and were awarded £8,100, £10,670 and £13,480, respectively.

Their elimination left only three players in the hunt for the prestigious trophy – Ted Jackson-Spivack, Ludovic Geilich and Krishna Nagaraju. The latter became the bronze medallist in the Birmingham’s UKIPT leg and scooped the amount of £16,464 for his efforts. His elimination gave the start to heads-up play between Geilich and Jackson-Spivack. The soon-to-be-champion had a considerable chip advantage. After a difficult heads-up battle, Jackson-Spivack emerged victorious and left the runner-up position for Geilich who got a consolation prize of £23,600.
