Since introduced in the summer of 2015, Aria’s Super High Roller Bowl has established itself as one of the biggest and most highly anticipated events to be taking place on an annual basis. The tournament’s third edition is currently underway and has so far delivered and even exceeded expectations for quality poker action.
Day 3 of the event was ticked as completed on Tuesday evening with just eight players left to contend for the attractive first-place payout of $6 million and the accolades that a champion of such a major event deserves.
Seven of all eight finalists will split the Super High Roller Bowl’s prize pool of $16.8 million. They are all guaranteed a minimum of $600,000, an amount two times larger than their $300,000 initial investment into the tournament.
Jake Schindler, a player well familiar to high roller poker action and particularly to high roller poker action at Aria Resort & Casino, is leading the remaining pack of eight. The player had a total of 4,080,000 in chips at the time the end of Day 3 was announced. A look at the chip counts chart shows that Schindler had accumulated almost two times more chips than the second in line.
Christoph Vogelsang finished Day 3 second in chips with 2,650,000. One player has struck as particularly active over the Super High Roller Bowl’s three days of play. Byron Kaverman, a player we have seen a lot from over the past several years and will certainly see even more, bagged one of the largest stacks for a third consecutive day. He has quite an extensive portfolio and a Super High Roller Bowl title will be a perfect addition to his other accomplishments in poker.
Stefan Schillhabel, Leon Tsoukernik, Pratyush Buddiga, Justin Bonomo, and Jason Koon were the other five players to have made it through Day 3 and who are set to return to Aria Casino today. The eight finalists will have two tasks before them today – to burst the bubble and to determine the three finalists, who will contend for the title on the event’s final day.
Of all eight remaining players, Tsoukernik is the only one who does not play professionally, although he is deeply tied to and involved in the game of poker. The Czech entrepreneur is known to be the owner of King’s Casino Rozvadov, Europe’s steamiest poker room. Tsoukernik has already proved that he might be just as good at the poker table as he is in the entrepreneurship field. The businessman won the EPT Prague €50,000 Super High Roller for €741,100 last December.
Notables to have been eliminated during Day 3 of the Super High Roller Bowl were defending champion Rainer Kempe, 2015 champion Brian Rast, Jason Mercier, and Daniel Negreanu, among others.
