WPT Borgata Poker Open Tournaments Offer $7 Million in Guaranteed Prizes

The WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship, held at the Borgata Hotel, Spa and Casino in Atlantic City, provides players will multiple opportunities to hit it big, with $7 million in guaranteed cash prizes. The tournament series will run between September 5 and September 22, 2017 and will involve a broad range of events in different formats, including the popular No-Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha.

It is the WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship Main Event that has attracted the greatest interest of players so far, which is anything but surprising considering it features a huge pool of $3 million in guaranteed cash prizes. The Main Event kicks off September 17 and will continue for six days until September 22. Those interested in taking part in this No-Limit Hold’em tournament would have to contribute with a $3,300 buy-in plus the additional amount of $200 as an entry fee.

The Main Event also allows for unlimited re-entries but on condition players have busted out before Level 10 has ended. The Main Event is to feature a total of 25 levels, with small and big blinds escalating to 12,000/24,000 in chips for the final level. Players will also be allowed to take short 15-minute breaks at the end of every two levels.

Main Event Winner Receives Free Seat at WPT Tournament of Champions

Given the impressive size of the Main Event’s prize pool, the winner is guaranteed to collect a solid payout, in addition to a free seat to the WPT Tournament of Champions. In order to secure this free entry to the prestigious event, the WPT would automatically extract the sum of $15,000 from the first-place prize for the Main Event.

Players who register are granted the option of partaking in multiple Day 1 flights. If a given player completes successfully both flights, they can choose the bigger of their two stacks to proceed with on the following day of play.

There are options for players with a limited budget as well since the WPT Borgata Poker Open features several events where participants can buy their way in for under $500. These will run simultaneously with the main events. Another option is to win your way into a bigger tournament as the series feature five different satellites for the Main Event. These will take place between September 15 and September 17, with the option to pay either $400 or $750 to try and earn a seat in the WPT Borgata Championship.

Online qualifiers are also an option for both visitors and residents of New Jersey as they can qualify by joining one of the virtual tables at Borgata Poker, which runs on the same platform as partypoker. The online satellites on the website feature a $400 buy-in.

The Borgata Deepstack Kickoff No-Limit Hold’em is already under way and comes with the option to re-enter an unlimited number of times with buy-in fees standing at $600. The event consists of six Day 1 flights, with September 9 being its final day. Players are granted the chance to collect a cut of a huge $2-million prize pool. This format which entails massive guaranteed pools and multiple-flight tournaments has become somewhat of a trademark for the WPT Borgata Poker Open.
