Double Action Roulette

Double Action Roulette was introduced by TCSJOHNHUXLEY and features their Mark VII Roulette Wheel. This game is another exciting variation to the traditional roulette, which offers players two winning numbers with every single spin. This is possible because of the two sets of numbers on the roulette wheel – an inner and an outer ring, which are positioned in opposing order on a single wheel. The two set of numbers rotate in the opposite directions and once the ball settles into a pocket, two numbers will win on each attempt. Each of the sets has 37 equal segments, with numbers 1 to 36 being alternately colored in red and black, while the zero is in green.

What makes double action roulette unique compared to traditional roulette games is the betting layout. Two identical betting areas can be found on the table – one of them accommodates bets placed on the outer ring of numbers and the other is used for bets on the inner ring of numbers. Both betting areas have a 6 by 6 grid of numbers, instead of the ordinary 3 by 12 grid used in traditional roulette games. A player may bet on the inner ring, the outer ring, or on both and receive traditional odds. Those, who crave for new betting opportunities and odds, may place outside bets offering new payouts. Outside bets offer reasonable odds for wheels with one zero, but that is not the case with double-zero wheels.

Along with the live table, an electronic terminal version of double action roulette is available with Novo Unity II. This configuration allows casinos to bring gaming to many players on their own terminal screens. In this case there is a centralized wheel and one or two dealers, who handle players. Up to 100 individual players can be accommodated on their own terminal screens thanks to this new version.

The rules of the game

First of all, it is important to note that outside bets are not even-money bets in double action roulette. However, in order for an outside bet to be successful, the selected wager has to occur on both rings.

Players may place their wagers until the dealer calls out ”No more bets”. Once the ball comes to rest, the winning numbers will be automatically illuminated on both betting areas. Some tables offer a separate display, where a series of previous winning numbers will be visualized. After the winning numbers are identified, the dealer will mark both numbers and move any Double Action bets to the rim of the wheel. Next, the dealer will sweep the Double Action Track, then betting area ”B” (the farthest from the wheel) and in the end – betting area ”A” (located in proximity to the wheel).
