The long lasting competition between Crown Resorts and Echo Entertainment Group has reached a new stage. Both companies are believed to be reliable and prominent and now, they are competing against each other in a new casino bid. The company that wins the auction will be given the exclusive chance to build a casino venue in Brisbane and enjoy the numerous benefits the fantastic deal brings about.
The executives of Crown Resorts and Echo Entertainment Group sent their applications on time but they remained tight-lipped about the details. The only information revealed was that Crown’s intention is to build a casino that is “truly spectacular” and therefore appealing to Brisbane-based players, tourists and professional players looking for taking part in thrilling games in the comfort of a stylish, luxurious resort.
James Packer, the CEO of Crown Resorts also said that company’s officials suspected the potential of the area to become thriving and profitable gambling Mecca almost a year ago. That’s why they took the opportunity to participate in the competition in Queensland as soon as they were notified about it.
Both companies have their own strategies for completing their casino projects and developing the local gambling industry. If Crown wins the competition, the new casino resort will be built with the help of the Chinese company Greenland Holdings. The business partners are planning to establish a six-star hotel and casino venue in an area, near the beach and buildings, said to be unique as far as their architecture and history are concerned.
If Echo is the winner, managers will work in collaboration with Chow Tai Fook and Far East Consortium. However, they were reluctant to reveal details about the design and the exact location of the casino.
It seems like the battle for obtaining the rights to build a Brisbane-based casino will be fierce. Both pretenders are determined to win, not to mention the long-standing enmity between them.
It wasn’t long ago when Crown defeated Echo and broke its monopoly on the Australian gambling market. Crown got a permission to build a super luxurious casino resort, based in Barangaroo. It is expected to become a major gambling hub that attracts players from all over the world. The project is to be completed in four years and it is estimated to cost Crown $1.5 billion.
The reason that have led to that enmity was the fact that John Redmond, the previous CEO of Echo, accused Crown of taking dishonest actions towards halting the efforts of Echo to expand its business on Australian soil.
Nevertheless, the Brisbane casino is considered to be another battlefield for the companies. Both of them are expected to launch new applications really soon. Meanwhile, the Queensland Government authorities will review the applications of the competitors and the winner will be officially announced at the beginning of the next year.
