Ladbrokes Starts 2015 with Significant Changes

News

bannerStoreLadbrokes31It seems that Ladbrokes, the popular British sports betting and gaming operator, is going to have quite a busy year. In the first place, the company announced a few days ago that it is planning to cease its operations in four European countries. What is more, Ladbrokes Partners, its leading affiliate program, launched its fully redesigned site.

Being among the fastest developing companies, it certainly could be said that more is yet to come for Ladbrokes.

Earlier in January, the operator notified its customers in Portugal, Finland, Romania, and Russia that it would stop providing its services on their markets. The company pointed to the changes that were implemented in the European and more particularly in the British online gambling legislation as the main reason for this move.

A spokesperson for the operator commented that they always tend to follow “legal advice and regulatory conditions” when it comes to their operations in both domestic and foreign markets.

It was also pointed out that the markets the company has left were not “material” enough.

In fact, the gaming legislations of all four countries are currently being reviewed and changes are expected to be implemented at some point in 2015. In Russia, in particular, the gambling market is facing certain challenges after President Putin’s administration sent warnings to several gaming operators that were said to have breached the country’s laws.

No information was given as to whether Ladbrokes is going to re-enter the above-mentioned four markets.

Back in October 2014, Ladbrokes ceased its operations in a number of other European countries such as Norway, Hungary, and Switzerland. In December the company announced its decision to leave the Canadian gaming market as well.

Meanwhile, Ladbrokes Partners, an affiliate program that offers in-depth analyses of the gaming industry and promotes the services that the betting operator provides, unveiled the new look of its website. As it was pointed out, the design automatically adjusts to the screen size of the visitors’ devices. In other words, it can be seen from all kinds of electronic devices.

Pages for affiliate news and information about promotions have also been added.

It is also important to note that the site is now available in English, Swedish, and German. Soon, French- and Dutch-speaking visitors will also be able to read it as these two language options will also be added.

Selmi Chakim, chief marketing officer at Ladbrokes Digital, commented on the new site as a means to put the company’s partners “at the forefront”. Now, they are able to find the information they might be interested in more easily. He also pointed out that one of their primary goal was to make it available and adjustable to all kinds of mobile devices.
