Members of the Nevada Senate Committee announced that they are currently reviewing a bill that would allow local gambling regulators approve the availability of casino games that require skills rather than luck.
Another clause included in the bill concerns the requirements the games of skill have to meet as well as the payout percentage and details about the outcome of every game of this kind.
In other words, if the bill passes, it means that the slot machines that will be available in local casinos will be more similar to Super Mario rather than to the popular Wheel of Fortune.
Actually, big game developers predicted that the video game-like products will soon be really popular and hurried up to introduce their products to the public.
Bally Technologies as well as Gamblit Gaming have already released products similar to Skee-Ball and Angry Birds. Although they do not feature impressive payouts, players seem to enjoy them.
As a matter of fact, the launch of such games has another, more beneficial aspect, apart from entertaining the players. It is expected to attract younger players who tend not to be too interested in video poker and slot machines.
Young players are not attracted by games that simply require them to push a button on particular intervals even if they are given the chance to win a big jackpot. The more players find the new amenities interesting, the higher the revenues generated will be.
Sen. Greg Brower commented on the matter and said that younger generation is not as interested in playing traditional casino games as the older one.
Brower also added that the Gaming Control Board and the Gaming Commission will be in charge of passing the bill and he does not expect any setbacks.
What made Brower so convinced of the bill legislation was the fact that Nevada gambling regulators seem to be interested in approving games requiring skills.
What is more, A.G. Burnett, the Chairman of the Nevada State Gaming Control Board, said that those days when players were impatient to attend a casino opening and try the new slots are in the past.
Today, integrated resorts that offer much more than gambling activities are on the agenda, which means that the gambling regulators have to keep up with the latest tendencies and meet players’ demands as to what kind of games to be available on the casino floor.
During the previous Global Gaming Expo event, held in Las Vegas, prominent gaming developers shared their ideas about the “next chapter” in the development of the casino industry and now, most of them announced that they were proud of having their products widely recognized and well perceived by both casino managers and players.
