Resorts Casino Hotel Launches PokerStars Website for New Jersey Players

News

Canadian gambling company Amaya Inc. announced today the launch of its most popular brand PokerStars in New Jersey after it has received the necessary technical approval from the state Division of Gaming Enforcement.

The launch marks the online poker room’s return to the United States after it was banished from there in April 2011, following what has been dubbed poker’s Black Friday. Three years later, the Rational Group, which owned and still owns PokerStars and Full Tilt, was purchased by Amaya for the amount of $4.9 billion. Many believe that the change in ownership was one of the factors that contributed the most to PokerStars’ return to the States and New Jersey, in particular.

Commenting on the online poker room’s launch, Amaya Chairman and CEO David Baazov said that they are extremely proud to be bringing PokerStars to New Jersey-based players. The executive further noted that they aim at providing their customers with “exciting, innovative, and secure” experience together with their partner in the state Resorts Casino Hotel.

New Jersey residents will be able to access the PokerStars New Jersey website and to try out the brand’s most popular games, poker formats, and related products. They will also be offered the chance to take part in various tournaments, while interacting with and playing against some of the world’s most renowned players. It is also important to note that the PokerStars New Jersey website is available across all channels and promises to provide players with “familiar, authentic, competitive, and convenient” gaming experience.

Morris Bailey, owner of Resorts Casino Hotel, commented that it is a great day for the state’s players and for Atlantic City, which has been facing serious financial problems over the past several years and has seen four of its twelve casinos close doors. Mr. Bailey further noted that his property has worked very hard to welcome popular brands in New Jersey and the addition of PokerStars is indicative of Resorts’ diligence.

Apart from its poker-related content, the PokerStars New Jersey website will also offer other casino games, with baccarat, blackjack, and roulette being among those. In addition, a selection of online slots titles will also be available to gambling customers from Atlantic City and New Jersey as a whole.
