Okurr! Cardi B Lands Vegas Residency at Palms Casino

Events & Reports

The fiery rapper has landed her first Las Vegas residency at Palms Casino Resort to join Sin City’s booming entertainment scene

The 2019 Las Vegas entertainment schedule is jam-packed with shows by some of the most talented performers in the industry. A number of celebrities have signed to residencies in Sin City, including Lady Gaga, who premiered her ENIGMA show in the final days of 2018, and Robbie Williams, whose first Vegas residency is set to kick off this March.

News broke on Wednesday that one more celeb artist will join the Las Vegas entertainment scene this spring. Bronx rapper Cardi B has landed her first Vegas residency after a stellar year in 2018, during which her debut album Invasion of Privacy smashed records and earned her several Grammy nominations.

The I Like It singer has signed to perform at Palms Casino Resort’s new day- and nightclub KAOS. The massive amphitheater-style entertainment complex is set to open in April as the final piece of the ongoing $620-million makeover at the hotel and casino resort.

Details about Cardi’s residency are yet to be revealed, but it has emerged that her performances would not be a traditional residency with multiple dates for full concert venue takeovers. Instead, the fiery rapper will make occasional appearances at the new club venue to cater to a booming demand for nightlife entertainment in Sin City.

KAOS at Palms

As mentioned earlier, the new club venue at Palms Casino Resort is part of the property’s massive renovation scheme. Owners of the glitzy resort located just off the Las Vegas Strip have decided to convert the former Rain into KAOS.

The nightclub portion of the facility will occupy 29,000 square feet of space and will feature a rotating 360-degree DJ booth, among other fancy tech additions. The dayclub portion will have a maximum occupancy of 5,000 people and will spread over 73,000 square feet of space. It will include a pool and other entertainment amenities.

Aside from Cardi B, KAOS has also signed G-Eazy, Skrillex, Kaskade, and Above and Beyond for multiple performances.

All in all, gaming and hospitality operator Station Casinos has unveiled plans to invest $620 million into renovating hotel rooms and entertainment facilities at Palms Casino Resort. The company agreed to purchase the property for $313 million in May 2016.

The makeover was to happen in three phases. Phase one of the project was revealed to the public in 2018. The opening of KAOS “will be the culminating moment for the repositioning of Palms’ renovation”, Jon Gray, General Manager of the resort has said in a statement.

It is also interesting to note that KAOS will be Las Vegas’ first megaclub to have been developed as a year-round facility. The club will sport the “first-ever audio-powered living brand logo” that will capture the sonic energy created by the venue itself.
