Choctaw Casino Readies Itself for Another Thrilling WPT Choctaw

Choctaw Casino in Durant is ready to welcome a flock of players hunting for a WPT title from the season’s penultimate Main Event

The next televised WPT Main Tour Main Event is just around the corner. Choctaw Casino & Resort is slated to play host to that tournament.

WPT action has already begun at the host casino but it will not be before May 17 when the highlight Main Event will kick off. The tournament will feature two starting flights and three more days of play.

Players willing to enter the event will have to pay a buy-in fee of $3,700. The tournament will feature a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million but chances for that guarantee to be smashed are quite big.

Another important thing to take into account is the fact that the WPT Choctaw will feature a televised final table. This means that once its field is whittled down to just 6 players on May 20, action will stop at the host casino. The final six will then reconvene to play the final table at the brand new HyperX Esports Arena at Luxor Las Vegas. That closing stage of the Main Event is slated to take place on May 31.

All WPT final tables from the current season onward are set to take place at the eSports venue under a partnership between the WPT and the property’s owners.

The most recent WPT Choctaw took place last summer and was one of the first events on the schedule of the current WPT season. The $3,700 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em event attracted a field of 755 entrants who generated a prize pool of more than $2.5 million. It was Brady Holiman who took down the event, good for a payout of $469,185.

Holiman emerged victorious from a final table that was also composed by former WPT Main Tour Champions Club members Anthony Zinno and Tony Ruberto.

The upcoming WPT Choctaw will be one of the final poker festivals on the schedule of the current season of the popular poker series. After Durant, the WPT will then head to Las Vegas for the WPT Aria Summer Championship at Aria Resort & Casino. That festival will feature a $10,000 Main Event starting May 27 and running through May 31.

Last but not least, the series will celebrate the end of its seventeenth season with the WPT Tournament of Champions.

The event will take place at Aria and will involve the Main Event champions from throughout the season clashing into each other in an epic battle that will determine the champion of all champions. The tournament will run on June 1-3.
