Yggdrasil continues Spain expansion effort with a content supply deal with local operator Casino Gran Madrid
Online gaming solutions provider Yggdrasil Gaming has penned a deal with Spanish operator Casino Gran Madrid to supply content to its digital casino operation. The deal will strengthen Yggdrasil’s position in the lucrative Spanish online gambling market.
The game studio said in a press release from earlier today that Casino Gran Madrid’s customers will be able to access its full library of slots, including the widely popular Vikings series as well as the newest releases, Dr Fortuno and Dwarf Mine. Yggdrasil’s new client will also be offered access to the supplier’s full range of proprietary in-game promotional tools as it looks to gain new customers and keep them coming back.
The newest content supply deal comes as one more important milestone in Yggdrasil’s strategy to increase its presence across regulated markets. The provider debuted its content in the Spanish online gambling market last year through a partnership with gambling giant GVC Holdings. Yggdrasil’s games went live with GVC’s bwin brand in the second quarter of 2018.
Spain’s regulated market has seen a continued growth over the past several years. That growth was largely attributed to the authorization of online slots in the country in 2014. Last year, locally licensed online operators generated €699 million in casino gaming and betting revenue, up 25.5% from 2017.
Another Positive Step
Commenting on their latest deal, Yggdrasil CEO Fredrik Elmqvist said that they are delighted to be working with Casino Gran Madrid, which is one of the “most well-known and prestigious operators” in the regulated gambling market of Spain.
Mr. Elmqvist went on to say that Yggdrasil has been in the process of expanding its presence in Spain and their latest deal “is another positive step for [them] in the country.”
Casino Gran Madrid Online & Slots Director Daniel Ledesma added that they look forward to helping Yggdrasil grow in Spain with a “long and successful partnership.”
The online casino content supplier has recently launched its games with 888 Holdings and has expanded its presence in Denmark’s regulated online gambling market through a partnership with the locally licensed RoyalCasino.dk.
Late last month, Yggdrasil announced that a fortunate Betsson player has triggered а €3.1 million jackpot on its Joker Millions progressive jackpot slot after wagering €1.25 on their laptop. The win came just months after Yggdrasil’s two progressive jackpot games – Joker Millions and Empire Fortune – paid out more than €10 million within two weeks to two lucky players.
