One thing in the world of iGaming that is incredibly annoying is online casinos with sticky fingers and propensity to offer pirated content, deceiving players and fellow industry folks, and bringing disrepute to the whole sector.
What is even more annoying is the fact that reports about deceitful casinos caught in possession of counterfeit gaming software emerge way too often lately, pointing to a whole underworld of shameless thieves.
There are many fraudsters out there, but then there are the ones like the LCB team who are always watchful for possible trickeries and ready to unmask their objectionable nature to the wider gambling community.
The latest of a series of outrageous acts of use of pirated content exposed by the LCB team involved Russia-facing Azartmania Online Casino. The gaming operation was caught in possession of pirated content by Novomatic, known to be among the biggest providers of software for the online gambling industry, and Igrosoft.
Unraveling the Trickery
Azartmania claims that its library of online casino titles includes games by Novomatic and Igrosoft, among a number of other providers. First suspicions that something extremely wrong was going on were raised by savvy customers of the casino who also happened to be members of the LCB community.
After those first suspicions emerged, the LCB team decided to delve deeper into the matter and see for themselves whether the casino was indeed guilty of outright deceit. It turned out that Azartmania really hosted counterfeit slot games by the two above-mentioned providers. The deceit was detected through the game load screens and in-game venues that “differ wildly from the original titles.”

Azartmania’s Punishment
Now as Azartmania’s deceitful actions have been exposed, the online casino has been blacklisted by LCB. In addition, the affected providers – Novomatic and Igrosoft – were informed that the casino uses pirated content.
Oddly enough, it seems that games by other providers available on Azartmania’s website are authentic.
We advise players to steer away from Azartmania or any other casinos that are confirmed to be using fake games.
The Azartmania story unfolded just shortly after the LCB team exposed another deceitful casino. Last week, the online gambling portal reported that GoldenReels Casino was found to have used counterfeit games by a number of major iGaming providers, including NetEnt, Novomatic, Yggdrasil Gaming, Microgaming, and Play’n GO, among others.
The first solid suspicion that the casino was bamboozling customers with fake games arose after one of its representatives noted on the Affiliate Guard Dog forum that NetEnt games are available in Australia – which they definitely are not.
The LCB team investigated the matter and discovered that GoldenReels Casino had two pirated servers that contained counterfeit games. Those games did not feature the usual jackpots any of the affected providers have, had unresponsive interface and loading screens, and multiple other indications that they were not exactly authentic. GoldenReels Casino has, too, been blacklisted by LCB.
