Global Gaming Transfers Ninjacasino.se Domain to Partner Finnplay

News

Swedish gambling group Global Gaming today announced that it has transferred its Ninjacasino.se domain to Viral Interactive Ltd., a subsidiary of gaming technology provider Finnplay.

Global Gaming announced its partnership with Finnplay and Viral Interactive this past July. Viral Interactive holds a license from the Swedish Gambling Authority to provide online gambling services on the territory of Sweden.

Global Gaming has decided to transfer its Ninjacasino.se domain to Finnplay’s subsidiary after the company lost its Swedish license in mid-June over serious anti-money laundering and know-your-customer deficiencies. The Swedish gambling operator was ordered to suspend its Swedish operations while Spelinspektionen, the local gambling watchdog, was reviewing its decision to revoke the company’s operating license.

In a press release on its official website, Global Gaming said today that Viral Interactive has filed an application with the Swedish Gambling Authority to add Ninjacasino.se to the list of domains that are covered by its license from the regulator. If the company gets the necessary approval, it will be “fully responsible for the operation and compliance” of Ninjacasino.se.

As part of the partnership between Global Gaming and Finnplay, Viral Interactive launched in early August the NanoCasino.com operation in Sweden. Global Gaming acts as a marketing partner to the Finnplay subsidiary. The operator said today that it will continue “to provide support in terms of resources and expertise in marketing, customer experience and branding for both NanoCassino.com and Ninjacasino.se.”

Return to the Swedish Market

With Global Gaming transferring the Ninjacasino.se operation to its partner, the Ninja Casino brand will be able to finally return to the Swedish gambling market. Following the revocation of its Swedish license, Global Gaming turned to several courts to appeal Spelinspektionen’s decision, asking to be allowed to resume operations while the regulator was reviewing the move.

However, three separate courts sided with the gambling watchdog, saying that it had made the right decision in revoking Global Gaming’s license.

Of the transfer of the Ninjacasino.se domain, Global Gaming’s CEO, Tobias Fagerlund said that the were aware of “Ninja Casino’s enormous value in the Swedish market and it should come as no surprise that we do not want to let its potential go to waste.”

Mr. Fagerlund added that he believed the operation is in safe hands now “with Viral Interactive and Finnplay’s provenly safe and responsible platform, which also places a great deal of emphasis on entertainment and the pleasure of gaming.”

The revocation of Global Gaming’s license came as a big blow to the company’s profitability as Sweden was its biggest market. The company posted revenue of SEK294.3 million in the first half of the year, down from SEK426.4 million in the same period of 2018, and operating loss of SEK54.5 million, down from operating profit of SEK70.3 million generated during the same six-month period a year ago.
