Venture capital fund Vereeni Investments and investment and M&A firm RB Capital today announced that they have acquired a 25% stake in online casino content supplier Green Jade Games to enhance its growth.
Based in Malta and licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority and the UK Gambling Commission, Green Jade Games is the in-house game studio of online gambling operator MRG Group, parent company of Mr Green.
In a press release that hit the wire earlier today, Vereeni said that, together with RB Capital, it has made a six-figure investment in Green Jade Games. The move aims to “supercharge” the content studio’s “already impressive growth” not only through additional capital, but also by plugging it into Vereeni’s extensive network of major gaming companies.
The venture capital firm was founded in 2017 in Malta. It focuses on early-stage ventures within the fintech, online casino gambling, sports betting, machine learning, casino software, blockchain, and cryptocurrency verticals.
Green Jade Games has joined a roster of early-stage ventures that are set to benefit from Vereeni’s recently created €100 million Level Up tech fund, which aims to accelerate participants’ potential. Other online gambling companies that are part of the initiative include Kalamba Games, Global Gaming, and OneTouch.
Investing in High-Potential Gaming Companies
Commenting on today’s announcement, Vereeni founder and CEO Timothy John Heath said that they love “nothing more than investing in high-growth, high-potential gaming companies, and Green Jade really ticks all the boxes.”
The executive also praised the gaming studio’s content and its special team and noted that they are certain the extra support they are offering will help Green Jade Games “take things to the next level.”
Green Jade Games Managing Director Benedict McDonagh added that they have excepted Vereeni and RB’s investment “because it not only allows us to scale our growth, but also provides access to an unparalleled network of iGaming expertise.”
The gaming studio’s boss also noted that as a relatively young industry player, the only way they can succeed is by “creating the type of game-changing casino content that operators simply cannot do without.”
Green Jade Games started operations in 2017. As mentioned above, the company is based in Malta. It launched its first online slot game, Hammer of the Fortune, in late 2018. It has released two more titles since then, with those being Spin Bet Station and Finding Mr Green, a nod to its affiliation with the popular online gaming brand.
In July, the iGaming content creator and supplier obtained a license from the UK Gambling Commission. A month later, it was also awarded one by the Malta Gaming Authority. The two licenses provide the company with the opportunity to distribute its existing and future gaming titles across some of the world’s largest regulated gambling markets.
