The Arabian Nights tales have held audiences from around the world spellbound for centuries. Online casino content supplier NetEnt recently shared with its audiences another, slightly different, tale – a story of a Swedish player who hit the jackpot on one of its most popular games, the Arabian Nights progressive jackpot slot.
Earlier this month, a Swedish player at Hajper Casino, a Sweden-licensed online gaming brand managed by ComeOn!, claimed a €1,422,545.44 jackpot after placing a €10 bet.
The unnamed slot aficionado landed five Aladdin wild symbols after triggering the free spins feature on the popular game.
Released back in 2005, Arabian Nights was the first jackpot games in NetEnt’s now expansive portfolio of online slots. The roll-out of Arabian Nights was later on followed by other classics such as Mega Fortune, Mega Fortune Dreams, and Hall of Gods.
Over the past year, NetEnt has added titles like Grand Spinn Superpot, Imperial Riches, and Mercy of the Gods to further boost its jackpot games offering.
Of the recent jackpot hit on Arabian Nights, NetEnt Director of Games Bryan Upton said that the game is a legendary title in the jackpot segment that “has created instant millionaires continuously since its release back in 2005.”
A Progressive Jackpot Classic
As mentioned earlier, NetEnt released Arabian Nights in 2005. The game was not only the first progressive jackpot slot in the Swedish casino content studio’s portfolio, but also one of the first products of this kind made available on the then relatively nascent online gaming market.
This low-to-medium volatility slot features a 5×3 grid and ten paylines. The Arabian-themed title is packed with Wild and Scatter symbols and a free spins feature, and is linked to a progressive jackpot.
The Wild symbol is represented by a grinning sultan with thick mustache who holds up a sparkling red jewel. When the sultan hits the reels, he can substitute for any other symbol and form winning combinations. The Scatter is represented by a jewel encrusted oil lamp. Three Scatter symbols on the reels unlock the free spins feature and award players with 15 free spins that provide them with additional chance to score big wins, including the progressive jackpot.
Arabian Nights has paid out millions in jackpot wins over the years, including a €4.8 million jackpot that dropped in 2010.
