The Global Poker Index has just released its weekly ranking update. Generally speaking, Top 10 of the leaderboard remained steady for a second consecutive week. German player Ole Schemion topped it once again with a total of 4,216.88 points. He was followed by Scott Seiver with 3,883.00 points and Davidi “Kitbul” Kitai with 3,846.72 points.

The leaderboard is compiled with three main things being taken into account – how many tournament competitors a player has faced, the buy-in fees he or she has paid in order to enter the respective events, and his or her overall live earnings over the past 36 months.

It is interesting to note that Schemion has topped GPI’s ranking for a sixteenth consecutive week. As mentioned above, he has collected a total of 4,216.88 points. It could be said that the year has been relatively profitable so far, as he finished second in the 2015 Aussie Millions Poker Championship A$98,000 + 2,000 #11 No-Limit Hold’em Challenge where he was paid the substantial amount of A$1,350,000 or $1,066,688.

Schemion won his first live tournament title in 2011 when he was only 19. Back then, he finished first at the EPT Season 7 €1,000 + 100 No-Limit Hold’em event for €54,200.

Up to now, the Berlin-born player has won a total of $7,785,084 in tournament earnings with his best live cash totaling $1,474,671 for triumphing in the Partouche Poker Tour € 8,500 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event. Other important finishes are his first place at the 2014 Aria $ 100,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller in Las Vegas where he was paid $1,062,785. He also won the EPT Season 10 €10,000 + 300 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller event for $366,589.

Schemion is currently 4th in Germany’s all time money list with Pius Heinz, Philipp Gruissem, and Tobias Reinkemeier being the only ranking higher than him. Furthermore, he is 56th in the world’s all time money list.

In March, the German player was presented with the 2014 European Player of the Year award. As mentioned before, this particular award is given to the player that has accumulated most points in the GPI ranking over a one-year period. Schemion also won Tournament Performance of the Year in 2013, and Rookie of the Year in 2012.

The 22-year-old player can also be spotted at online multi-table poker tournaments under the alias wizowizo.
