
Last month, Indiana’s ten riverboat casinos and three land-band facilities generated the amount of $196.5 million. By comparison, February revenue totaled $178.7 million. It seems, however, that the state’s gambling venues performed better this time last year, as the amount of $212 million was reported by the Gaming Commission.
Horseshoe Casino Hammond, located not far from the state’s Illinois border, was the top performer among Indiana’s gambling facilities. The venue took in revenue of $41.5 million in March compared to $36 million in February. A slight year-over-year decrease was posted, as the amount of $43.2 million was generated in March 2014.
Ameristar Casino Hotel East Chicago’s revenue totaled $20.2 million last month compared to $18.5 million in February, and $20.5 million in March 2014.
Belterra Casino Resort & Spa generated the total amount of $9.7 million in March compared to $8.5 million in February. However, revenue dropped slightly year-over-year.
Blue Chip Casino Hotel Spa in Michigan City took in $14.5 million last month compared to $11.5 million in February, and $15 million in March 2014.
Land-based French Lick Casino raked in $6.8 million last month. By comparison, the amount of $5.4 million was generated during the previous month. This venue, too, posted a year-over-year decrease in revenue as a total of $6.3 million was reported in March 2014.
Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg generated $16.1 million last month compared to 14.3 million in February, and $19.1 million this time last year.
Hoosier Park in Anderson took in $18.8 million back in March up almost $2 million compared to the figures posted in February. Yet, this venue, too, reported a decrease in revenue year-over-year, as the amount of $19.7 million was generated in March 2014.
Horseshoe Southern Indiana, located outside the town of Elizabeth, raked in $17.3 million in March compared to $20.5 million in February and $22 million in March 2014.
Shelbyville’s Indiana Grand Racing & Casino reported revenue of $22.5 million last month. In comparison, the racino generated $21 million in February and $23.4 million in March 2014.
Majestic Star Casino’s revenue increased almost $1 million month-over-month to reach $8.6 million in March. The amount of $9.8 million was posted this time last year. As for Majestic Star II, it posted revenue of $6.1 million in March compared to $$5.7 million in February and $6.8 million in March 2015.
It could be said that Rising Star Casino Resort in Rising Sun performed quite poorly, as it raked in the amount of $4.3 million in March. Yet, its revenue increased month-over-month, as a total of $3.6 million was posted in February.
And last but not least, Tropicana Evansville reported to have generated $10 million during the previous month. By comparison, it took in $9.6 million in February. However, the amount of $10.9 million was posted this time last year.
Indiana’s thirteen gambling venues generated the amount of $551.5 million during the first quarter of 2015 compared to $552.9 million for the same period in 2014. The overall decrease was mainly attributed to inclement weather conditions.
