Revel Casino – one of the Atlantic City-based casinos that filed for bankruptcy after only two years of operating, might open doors for players again and attract more and more fans. That’s what have been announced recently by the new owner of Revel Casino.
September 2nd was the day when Revel Casino was closed, which made the property the fourth casino in Atlantic City that had such a tragic fate. And the worst of all is that there might be a fifth one – Taj Mahal is threatened with closure unless some urgent actions are taken and the closure is prevented.
However, the Canadian company that won the auction, organised a few days ago, reported that Revel Casino is likely to be re-opened and added to the casinos Brookfield US Holdings LLC owns in Nevada and the Bahamas.
According to the authorities, Revel Casino is the perfect opportunity for expanding their business by making a profitable investment in a casino hotel, located at the Broadwalk area of Atlantic City.
The bid, the Brookfield US Holdings LLC submitted, was equal to $110 million. Glenn Straub was said to be the runner up that would win the auction in case unexpected circumstances befall the deal between Ravel and Brookfield US Holdings LLC.
Andrew Willis, a Brookfield representative, commented that the Revel Casino is an awesome acquisition that has a wonderful location. Furthermore, it has been acquired at an impressive discount, which can be regarded as a sound long-term investment. He also added that everyone, included in the auction procedures, is really content with the outcome and the fact that the company has become a proud owner of a new, top quality casino by closing a deal that corresponds to the Brookfield’s policy of making wise and lucrative investments.
Willis said that the details about the Casino are about to be figured out soon so at this point he is unable to provide some more information about it. All he revealed about this matter was that Revel will serve as a casino-hotel but media will be further notified if the name of the venue changes.
Revel Casino will officially become a property of Brookfield tomorrow, when the court hearing is said to take place. However, the backup bidder – Straub claims that the auction was not completely fair and his company was not given enough time for coming up with a counted offer.
Bearing Straub’s pretension in mind, Brookfield might have some issues during the court hearing.
As a matter of fact, Straub was planning to replace the casino with an academy where a number of people with exceptional mental abilities would be in charge of solving the most delicate world problems but he was reluctant to tell if there would be a casino within the property or not.
