The popular poker player Victoria Coren Mitchell announced that tonight, she will be hosting the Have I Got News For You show. It is a British television panel show broadcast by BBC One.
This will not be the first TV show the poker pro takes part in. She has been gaining more and more popularity through her journalism career and poker accomplishments.
Ms. Mitchell revealed some details about the show that is to be broadcast tonight at 9 pm., on her personal blog. She provided information about her guests and the atmosphere during the recording process.
The poker star announced that tonight her guests will be Alun Cochrane with Ian and Lord Prescott with Paul and added that the recording took place the previous night.
Ms. Mitchell went on to say that during the recording, the tension between Lord Prescott and Ian could hardly be defined. Yet, she admitted that Ian was not afraid of “going to the difficult places” and added it was praiseworthy given the fact that the show has been on air for 25 years.
In spite of being impressed by the fact that the show has been gaining more and more popularity throughout the years without losing its individuality, she said that during the recordings, she felt that the content was awkward but at the same time, attractive to the audience.
What made the poker legend feel particularly worried was the behavior of Lord Prescott. He was not too talkative and he was actually really careful about what he said, which surprised her as she expected him to have fun during the recordings.
Despite the unexpected situations, Victoria Coren Mitchell said that she was overall glad with her performance in the show.
As far as her career in the poker industry is concerned, Victoria Coren Mitchell can take pride in being the only player who has won the prestigious European Poker Tour twice. Back in 2006, she won her first EPT title and last April, she took part in EPT San Remo where she emerged victorious and became the first double champion.
