Тhe Hollywood Poker Open Season 3 Charles Town Regional Main Event was completed mere hours ago. The event, which was held at the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, attracted 118 players and a prize pool of $115,500 was created.
Poker player and car dealer Loukas Michael from Virginia topped the field to win the amount of $35,803 and a seat into the HPO Championship Event with a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000, which is to be hosted by the M Resort Casino and Spa in Las Vegas between June 26-28.
As mentioned above, the Charles Town Main Event created a prize pool of $115,500 and only the top 11 performers received a portion of the money. The ten-handed final table was set with the elimination of Casey Glick in 11th place. It began with Mike Axen as the chip leader, holding 440,000 in chips. He was followed by Carl Garland, and Ken Moore with 330,000.
Friedrich Neunkirchner was the first to leave the final table. He was defeated by Garland in Level 16 and received $2,888 for his 10th place.
It took two more levels before another player was seen go. In Level 19, Ronald McDonald busted out Mike Axen. He took home $3,465 of the entire prize pool.
Shortly before the end of Level 19, yet another player left the final table. Tommy Ingram was eliminated in 8th place for $4,620.
Level 21 started with Garland being defeated by Chris Grove. The player took home the amount of $5,429 for finishing 7th in the event.
The next elimination came one level later, when Chris Yeary was busted by Steven Gurney-Goldman and received $6,641 of the prize pool. Yeary was followed by Grove, Goldman, and McDonald. The three players were paid $7,912, $10,395, and $14,669, respectively.
The heads-up play between Michael and Moore started in Level 25 with both players holding 1,200,000 in chips. Right before the end of Level 25, Michael took the lead and did not give a chance to his opponent to catch up.
The last hand occurred in Level 26 with Michael holding [Ad][Qc] against Moore’s [Kc][Qd]. The board ran out [Qs][4d][3h][7d][Jc] and the name of the champion became clear. Moore took home $21,368 for his runner-up finish.
Currently, Michael has almost $50,000 in live tournament earnings, with his most recent cash of $35,803 being the largest so far.
