Shaun Deeb Climbs 623 Positions in the GPI Ranking

The weekly update of the Global Poker Index ranking showed German poker pro Ole Schemion at its top with a total of 4,125.03 points. He is followed by Americans Scott Seiver and Dan Smith with 3,964.16 points and 3,891.72 points, respectively.

With the 46th Annual World Series of Poker currently being held at Rio All-Suite Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, there was a lot of movement in Top 300 of the prestigious leaderboard over the past week. For instance, Shaun Deeb climbed 623 positions to reach 293th place, an achievement that is definitely worth paying a bit more attention.

Deeb’s impressive climb could be attributed to his excellent performance at this year’s edition of the WSOP. The Las Vegas-based player, born in Troy, New York, has cashed in three events since the beginning of the Series. Last weekend, he won the $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold’em Championship or Event #15 to capture his first-ever WSOP gold bracelet and the amount of $318,857. Deeb’s victory also secured him with 480.73 points in the GPI ranking.

Next, the player finished 9th in the $10,000 Razz Championship or Event #17. He scooped a total of $26,557 and 241.50 points. Those two events were absolutely enough for him to enter Top 300 of the GPI leaderboard.

The third 2015 WSOP event Deeb cashed in was the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em Eight-Handed or Event #25. The player finished 22nd at that one and was paid $16,219 of the prize pool. He also received 243.42 points.

Deeb has collected a total of 1,638.49 points since the beginning of this calendar year, with 945.65 of those scored at the 2015 WSOP.

So far, the Las Vegas-based player has cashed in 26 WSOP events and his 1st place at the $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold’em Championship was his best achievement. Furthermore, his WSOP winnings amount to $903,679.

Aside from his performance at the world’s most popular poker series, Deeb has also appeared at a number of EPT, PCA, and various other prestigious tournaments. Up to now, his live tournament earnings total $2,887,833. He scooped his largest live cash during the 43rd Annual WSOP in 2012. Deeb finished 2nd in the One Drop Mega Satellite to capture the amount of $1,000,000.

The player is also quite profitable online. He could be spotted at PokerStars tables under the screen name ‘shaundeeb’. There, the player has won $3,630,952 so far. His Full Tilt screen name is ‘tedsfishfry’ and he has scooped a total of $2,209,281 under it. The player has also collected $178,000 from various other online poker rooms. His online winnings currently amount to $6,018,234.
