Day 6 of the 2015 WSOP $10,000 Main Event was completed a few hours ago. There are only 27 remaining players and they will return for Day 7 determined to win a seat into the final table. Thomas Kearney from Las Vegas, Nevada finished as the chip leader bagging up a total of 14,400,000 chips.

Kearney’s cash history shows that he has collected a total of $77,865 in live tournament winnings. Being one of the 27 finishers at the WSOP Main Event means that he would add no less than $262,574 to his poker bankroll. This year, the player cashed in two other Series events, capturing almost $25,000.

Apart from Kearney, there were six other players who managed to pass the above-the-10-million-chip mark. Mozheng Guan will start Day 7 with a 14,230,000 stack. Erasmus Morfe ranked 3rd in chips by the end of Day 6. He collected a total of 12,085,000. Joseph McKeehen with 11,975,000, Mario Sequeira with 11,685,000, David Stefanski with 11,485,000, and Alexander Turyansky with 10,785,000 are the other who ended the day with more than 10 million chips.

At first, five levels were to be played on the sixth day of this year’s Main Event. However, it was later announced that play will be stopped once there were 27 players left at the tables. This happened a little more than half an hour before the end of Level 30, when Andrew Moreno was eliminated in 28th place. He scooped $211,821 of the prize pool.

Of all 27 remaining players, there are only two former bracelet winners left – Max Steinberg, who has previously won one of the prestigious pieces, and Daniel Negreanu, who holds six of those. Both players have not won the WSOP Main Event before. However, Negreanu topped the field of the WSOP APAC Main Event back in 2013 to capture his career bracelet number five and the amount of $1,038,825.

It is also interesting to note that Kelly Minkin, the last remaining female player, was seen leaving on Day 6 of the Main Event. She was eliminated in 29th place receiving a payout of $211,821.

Day 7, the last one before the final table, which is to be played in November, is scheduled to start at 12 pm local time. Play will continue up until there are 9 players left.
