Although the 2015 WSOP was regarded as the most important poker event during the last couple of weeks, it does not mean that there were not other exciting poker tournaments taking place at the same time. The Venetian DeepStack Extravaganza (DSE) III was just completed and Samuel Bernabeu emerged victorious to capture the amount of $537,017 for his first place.

Last week, the WSOP Main Event was completed, but another exciting tournament – the Venetian DeepStack Extravaganza III, which took place in Las Vegas, was just about to have its winner announced.

DSE Main Event kicked off on July 12 and continued through July 18th. As many as 547 players took part in the event, but only 63 of them got a share from the $2,557,225 prize pool. As mentioned above, Samuel Bernabeu from Spain was the winner who captured $537,017. Due to the latest overwhelming victory, his earnings from live events totaled $1,354,745. In point of fact, the victory in Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza Main Event was the fifth one in his professional career and the first one won on the territory of the United States.

Bernabeu faced the Canadian Doug Lee in a heads-up play and the latter had to content himself with a runner-up position and the sum of $329,882. The second position in DSE was the fourth event where Lee was ranked among the Top 10 players.

Hans Winzeler from Miami was sent to the third position and captured the amount of $240,379. The performance of David “Doc” Sands came as a bit of a disappointment to his fans as he was granted the 10th place as well as $38,358 from the created prize pool.

The other players who formed the Final Table were Scott Efron who finished 4th and captured $179,006 while David Nicholson was ranked 5th.

The 6th position was occupied by David Patterson II who got $102,289 for his participation. The 7th place was for Javier Zarco who captured $79,274. The eight position in the competition and $61,373 of the prize pool went to Mark Newhouse whose performance was also a bit disappointing as compared to last year’s. The 9th place was for Senouio Ramirez.

As for the winner Samuel Bernabeu, he had quite an unsuccessful WSOP participation. He is currently ranked 14th in the Spain All Time Money List. Back in 2012, he triumphed in the 2012 Mega Poker Series in Spain and Croatia. CIRSA Poker Tour Valencia, Seminole Hard Rock 2013 Poker Open, Hollywood and 2014 Venetian Resort Hotel Casino Recurring Tournaments are some of the other events where Bernabeu had an impressive performance.
