Dominik Nitsche Enters GPI Player of the Year Top 10

The traditional Wednesday update of the GPI Player of the Year leaderboard shows Anthony Zinno topping it for a third consecutive week. The player has collected as many as 4,192.92 points since the beginning of the year. He is followed by Connor Drinan with 3,771.10 points and Scott Seiver with 3,610.30 points.

Byron Kaverman and Dzmitry Urbanovich are the other two players who made it to this week’s top 5. They have collected 3,510.54 points and 3,380.70 points, respectively.

German player Dominik Nitsche entered top 10 to reach his best ever GPI Player of the Year rank. After this week’s update, the poker pro is taking 7th place with a total of 3,300.78 points. Here it is important to note that he also climbed in the GPI leaderboard. There he is taking 13th place with 3,393.19 points, his highest ever rank.

A lot could be said about Nitsche. The 24-year-old player who is originally from Germany but now resides in Great Britain is the proud holder of 3 WSOP gold bracelets. He got his first one back in 2012, when he was only 21. He topped the field of a $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em event to capture the precious piece of jewelry and the amount of $654,797.

Bracelet number 2 came two years later. In 2014, the player emerged victorious in the $10,000 WSOP National Championship, which is known to be an official bracelet event. He also added the amount of $352,800 to his poker bankroll. That same year, the player also captured his third piece for winning the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em event. He was also awarded $335,659 for his performance.

Overall, Nitsche has cashed in a total of 25 different WSOP events so far. And his career WSOP winnings amount to $2,233,671. In other words, the player’s performance in the Series has been more than impressive, especially given his young age.

Among other things, the German can also boast of one WPT title. He won that one back in 2012, when he topped the field of the WPT Johannesburg Emperors Palace Poker Classic $3,600 Main Event for $206,153.

As for his performance since the beginning of 2015, it could be said that Nitsche has had quite e profitable year. He cashed in 6 WSOP events, with his 3rd place in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed being his best achievement over this summer’s edition of the Series. He cashed $220,657 in that particular event.

Two weeks ago, the player finished 2nd in the Bellagio Cup XI $10,400 Main Event for $479,732. A 10th place in the 2015 PCA $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller for $112,980 was also among his most notable money finishes this year.

So far, Nitsche’s career live winnings total $4,955,481, with his best cash amounting to $654,797.
