Blake Bohn Wins 2015 MSPT Meskwaki Casino Main Event

The Mid-States Poker Tour’s latest stop was at Meskwaki Casino in Tama, Iowa. There, the $1,110 Main Event was completed a few hours ago. Blake Bohn, who is member of the MSPT Team Pro, emerged victorious over the event’s field to capture the amount of $101,229 of the entire prize pool.

The two-day Main Event attracted a total of 410 entries who created a prize pool of $410,000. The top 45 finishers received their portion of the money, with the payouts starting from $1,981.

Blake Bohn is not a stranger to the MSPT. As mentioned about, the player is a member of its team of poker pros. This was Bohn’s second MSPT title. Last year, the player topped the field of the Sioux Falls $1,100 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event to capture the amount of $54,607.

Overall, the player’s live tournament winnings currently total $2,342,339, with his best live cash amounting to $288,171. He received the money for winning the 2013 Chicago Poker Classic $3,200 No-Limit Hold’em.

Aside from Bohn, the ten-handed final table of the Meskwaki Casino $1,110 Main Event saw two other former MSPT championsDave Gonia, who has previously won an MSPT Running Aces event, and Peixin Liu, who captured the title of the Canterbury Park Main Event.

Eventually, it was Justin Thurlow from Cottage Grove, Minnesota, whom Bohn had to face for a final heads-up duel. On what turned out to be the last hand in play, the soon-to-be-champion tabled [Qd][9c] against his opponent’s [Js][9s]. A Queen appeared on the flop and thus secured Bohn with a pair. Thurlow had to content himself with the runner-up finish and the amount of $58,442.

Greg Gates from Iowa City, Iowa finished 3rd to capture the amount of $35,658 of the entire prize pool. Peixin Liu from Blaine, Minnesota took 4th place and was paid $28,725 for his efforts. David Gonia from White Bear Lake, Minnesota finished 5th and received a $22,583 share of the prize pool.

Jim Boone from Lakeville, Minnesota added $18,820 to his poker bankroll for taking 6th place in the event. Ryan Delorme from Canada took $15,056 for his 7th place. James Wilson from Minneapolis, Minnesota finished 8th to scoop $11,490. Phil Mader from Grand Island, Nebraska took 9th place for $7,924. Rounding out the final table, Rob WazWaz collected the amount of $5,151.
