Byron Kaverman Ranks 2nd in the GPI Leaderboard

Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier topped the GPI ranking for a third consecutive week with a total of 4,057.41 points. The traditional Wednesday update of the leaderboard also showed Byron Kaverman climbing six positions to take 2nd place with 3,987.89 points. Scott Seiver dropped one position and now ranks 3rd with 3,963.42 points.

Anthony Zinno, who was 3rd last week, took 4th place with 3,903.28 points. British poker pro Stephen Chidwick maintained his 5th position for a third consecutive week. The player has collected 3,748.13 points since the beginning of the year.

Byron Kaverman is a name poker connoisseurs around the the world have definitely heard of. The Ohio-based poker pro has had quite a successful year so far, capturing his first WSOP gold bracelet and more than $2 million in prize money.

His latest achievement was his 3rd place in the Bellagio Cup XI $10,400 No-Limit Hold’em event for $409,219. During this summer’s edition of the WSOP, Kaverman cashed in 4 events. He scooped $37,030 for his 9th place in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em and $26,490 for finishing 12th in the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Heads-Up Championship.

The player also topped the field of the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Handed Championship for his first career gold bracelet and the amount of $657,351. Last, he finished 12th in the $111,111 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller for ONE DROP and collected $332,593 of the entire prize pool.

In March, Kaverman emerged victorious in not one but two high roller events and he did that within the course of two days. First, he topped the field of the Aria VI $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller to receive the amount of $282,948. On the very next day, he repeated his feat, this time winning the seventh edition of the tournament for 2015. He added $243,240 to his poker bankroll for his triumph.

In January, he finished 2nd in Aria’s $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em event number three. His share of the prize pool totaled $282,435.

Kaverman’s biggest live cash so far amounts to $727,860. He took it back in April 2014 for his runner-up finish in the $15,400 WPT World Championship. Up to date, his live tournament winnings total $5,692,341.

Apart from his second-place rank in the GPI leaderboard, Kaverman is also taking 4th place in the Player of the Year ranking with as many as 3,510.54 points.
