Manchester United Signs Partnership Agreement with Donaco International

Premier League football club Manchester United announced earlier today that it had signed a partnership agreement with Asian gambling and entertainment operator Donaco International Limited. Under it, the company is to become Manchester United’s first official resort partner in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, South Korea, and Thailand.

Reportedly, the football club has more than 325 million fans in the aforementioned countries. The two organizations are to collaborate in order to connect with this large fan base by means of exclusive club content and branding.

Donaco was founded back in 2002 and has been running a number of gambling, entertainment, and leisure businesses in a number of countries in the Asia-Pacific region. A few months ago, the company purchased the Star Vegas Resort & Club. It paid the amount of $360 million for the Cambodia located gambling venue. Vietnam’s Aristo International, a five-star hotel and casino resort, is also among the properties owned and operated by Donaco.

As for Manchester United, it was founded in 1878 and has collected 62 different trophies since then. The Old Trafford football club’s global community currently has more than 650 million followers who provide it with a worldwide platform that annually generates millions of dollars from sponsorship, product licensing, broadcasting, merchandising, and other related activities.

Commenting on the signed partnership, Richard Arnold, Managing Director of the Manchester United Group, said that it is an extremely important one for the football club as Donaco has become their first official casino resort partner in the number of Asian countries. Mr. Arnold also pointed out that they are extremely excited to be able to work with the gambling company and to connect with their numerous fans in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, South Korea, and Thailand.

Joey Lim, Managing Director of Donaco, said that his company has always been striving to provide its customers with the best possible experience at its casino resorts across Asia. Mr. Lim noted that through its partnership with Manchester United, Donaco will be able to connect with the club’s fans by means of “compelling marketing campaigns.” Thus, the operator will be able to further expand its business in the region and expedite its footprint as part of its general growth strategy.
