Police Authorities Caught the Fugitive Peter Foster

76cd5b1f-e049-4684-8a50-c174a593aa4f-620x372Peter Foster, who became notorious for having earned an incredible amount of money through participating in sports betting activities, has finally been arrested. Foster eluded police almost an year ago and hadn’t appeared for a court hearing in the Federal Court of Brisbane.

Foster was arrested in Byron Bay, New Sough Wales. He was accused of disrespecting the Court because he failed to appear for the hearing, mentioned above. The other accusations concern the prohibition to get involved in any weight loss deals and in the industry in general.

Foster got the prohibition nine years ago when he tried to convince investors to provide him with funds for popularizing his invention – a nasal spray that accelerates the weight loss process and solves obesity issues. Despite his absence, he was sentenced to spend three years behind the bars for that.

Soon after the arrest of Foster, his defender gave a short interview for the media in order to avoid further rumors and speculations, caused by the lack of officially revealed information. The solicitor said that his client is still trying to overcome the shock and for the time being, his greatest concern is if he would be allowed to meet his mother because he used to take care of her during the time he was trying to escape justice. The solicitor also added that, Foster literary lived like a monk over the last year.

Ken Gamble, the investigator who was hired by Channel Nine with the mission of finding where Peter Foster was hiding, revealed another crime that made the situation, Foster is in, even more complicated and unfavorable to him. During the investigation, Gamble found out that Foster used to have shares in the betting company, known as The Sports Trading Club and during that time he has earned an outstanding sum of money.

Foster was included in the list of the most wanted by Interpol criminals. More than a decade ago, he also became notorious for his starring in a British television production, which presented the events that had happened in 2002 when Foster assisted the wife of the former Prime Minister of Great Britain, Tony Blair, to purchase two properties, located in Bristol.

During the arrest, Foster made an attempt to use the weapon of a police officer in order to defend himself and eventually escape once again. However, he was caught later and his solicitor was unlucky enough to be put in another awkward situation. Foster’s defender explained that his client had probably not realized that he took the policeman’s gun and he might have even thought it was a torch.

That’s not the first arrest for Foster though. He has already been in jails in the United States, Australia, UK and soon he will be extradited to Queensland where he will spend another couple of years in jail.

As far as the Sports Trading Club affairs are concerned, an online media announced that they have sold half of their shares to another company and their future endeavors include expanding their business to Africa and Asia.
