Franco Ivan Luca Returns to GPI Player of the Year Top 10

It has been 8 weeks since Anthony Zinno topped the GPI Player of the Year leaderboard and its latest update shows that the player still ranks 1st. The poker pro, who has won one WSOP gold bracelet, two WPT events, and the L.A. Poker Classic Championship since the the beginning of the year, has a total of 4,341.41 points.

Zinno is followed by Byron Kaverman with 3,797.99 points and Connor Drinan with 3,771.11 points. Dzmitry Urbanovich and Paul Volpe are the other two players who made it to top 5 of this week’s ranking.

Franco Ivan Luca was among the notables who entered top 10 after the Wednesday update. The player currently ranks 10th with 3,423.22 points. As for his GPI rank, he is 72nd at present with a total of 2,643.04 points. Luca is one of the most profitable Argentinian poker pros. He has collected a total of $1,969,037 from various live tournaments. Earlier this year, he won his best career cash of €397,000 ($434,607) for finishing 2nd in the inaugural EPT Season 11 Malta €10,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller.

It could be said that 2015 has been really profitable for the young Argentinian. He cashed more than $1.2 million in a total of 19 EPT, LAPT, WSOP, and other different events.

This year, the 23-year-old not only won his first WSOP cash but managed to do what every self-respecting poker player wishes for – to collect a gold bracelet, the most prestigious and coveted non-monetary prize in the world of this thrilling game. Luca topped the field of the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em event for $353,391 and the shiny piece of jewelry.

Apart from his triumph at this year’s edition of the Series, the player also had a fourth-place finish in the FPS Season 4 Deauville €1,000 Main Event for €68,500. He also finished 5th in the EPT Season 11 Deauville €10,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller where he collected a payout of €90,690 ($103,833).

It seems that Luca is keen on playing in high roller tournaments as he also appeared in the EPT Season 11 Grand Final Monte Carlo €50,000 No-Limit Super High Roller and finished 8th to collect €121,700 ($136,221). A few days ago, the player took 6th place in the EPT Season 12 Barcelona €50,000 Super High Roller and captured the amount of €280,500 ($316,655).
