The Global Poker Index announced on Friday that German poker pro Martin Finger topped the Player of the Month ranking for August 2015. The player collected a total of 1428.4 points over the course of the month after more than excellent performance during the season-opening EPT Barcelona poker festival.

Finger cashed in four events, making three final table appearances and topping the field of one of the said events. The young German first won the €25,500 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller 8 Max for a payout of €865,900 ($995,195). Then he finished 6th in the €5,200 No-Limit Hold’em Hyperturbo for €30,050 ($34,405). Cash number three amounted to €32,400 ($36,590) and he received it for finishing 27th in the €10,300 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller 8 Max. Last, the player finished 3rd in the €5,200 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo 6 Max to collect €54,435 ($60,864).

Overall, the German added a little more than $1 million to his poker bankroll last month. Thus, his live tournament earnings reached a total of $6,488,343. The player currently ranks 6th in Germany’s all-time money list and 82nd in the general all-time money list.

It is important to note that Finger is one-time EPT Main Event winner and holds one WSOP gold bracelet. He captured his EPT title back in December 2011, when he emerged victorious in the EPT Season 8 Prague €5,300 Main Event. Apart from the tournament trophy, he also took the amount of €720,000 ($964,023). It could be said that this was Finger’s first major success.

In June 2013, the player won his first (and only so far) WSOP gold bracelet. He received it for topping the field of the 44th WSOP $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em Six-Handed event. Finger also collected $506,764 for his victory.

Only a few months later, in October 2013, the German poker pro emerged victorious in the EPT £50,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller for the biggest payout in his career. The player received £821,000 ($1,331,171) for defeating some of the world’s best high rollers.

Over the course of his career, Finger has cashed in almost all of the most prestigious tournaments and has topped the fields of many of those.

After the latest update of the GPI ranking, the German is taking 14th place with 3,426.17 points. He is also ranking 14th in the GPI Player of the Year leaderboard for a second consecutive week with a total of 3,418.71 points.
