Thus, it became clear that Harris and Yanev would face each other heads-up. The match began with Harris holding 37 million chips against his opponent’s stack of 11 million. Heads-up did not last long and Harris managed to retain his chip lead until the very end.
On what turned out to be the last hand in play, Harris moved all in after a flop of [9c][7s][10s]. Yanev called holding [6c][7d] against Harris’ [Js][Jh]. The [4d] came on the turn and the [Jd] appeared on the river, securing Harris with the title and the first-place prize. As for Yanev, he had to settle for the runner-up finish and the amount of £90,000.
Immediately after his victory, Harris told interviewers that he would be going home and spoiling his nearest and dearest. The winner also noted that he went to Dusk Till Dawn and entered the tournament “just for a bit of fun.” Little did he know that he would leave the casino as a champion.
